Medieval Centre

Visitors are captivated by Amberg´s medieval centre, with its walls, towers and gates – one of which spans the River Vils and is the town landmark. The Gothic town house, numerous churches, the residences of respected burghers and monasteries can all be found in the old town centre.

The site of the Regional Garden Show and the Mariahilfberg are two attractive local leisure spots. Numerous events and festivals take place throughout the year: a summer festival, open-air Summer Serenade concerts, a town festival and the renowned “Berg“ festival are excellent opportunities for enjoying outdoor cultural events, as well as regional speciality food and beverages. 

Theatre, concerts, the Amberg Congress Centre and exhibitions in the town museums round off the range on offer.
